Silver also urged the league’s Board of Governors to use its power to force a sale of the team, something that can be accomplished with a 75 percent majority.
After the ruling, all 29 other owners issued statements of support for Silver.
“We stand together in condemning Mr. Sterling's views,” Silver said. “They simply have no place in the NBA.”
