Fine, God said don't pray anywhere you can be seen by men. I was willing to concede places of worship, but it seems even this is prohibited.
Matthew 6:6...
"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Christians seem to be bound be the inability to follow simple instructions.

I'm not making this shit up; these are the words of your God. They are hypocrits because they pray in public (6:5). The next verse prescribes the remedy, which you apparently wish to ignore. The context and meaning are clear and unavoidable. You can follow the teaching or admit that the word of your god doesn't trump your conviction.

Do religious people ever pray at times when they know there is no one there to see them? I think that the point of prayer, at least to some extent, is to make a spectacle of one's self.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste -- don't pollute it with bullshit.

99% of my prayers are when no one but God is around.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I'm sure they do, but we don't have proof.

Or they pray in public because they're hypocrites.

I think it's a good remedy for hypocrites.

Considering other passages such as the one I provided and those in which Jesus and the apostles pray within view of other men, I disagree that your interpretation is clear and unavoidable.

Horseshit. If you think Matthew 6:5-6 isn't specifically addressing the types of prayer engaged in before civic events then those passages serve no purpose. I think you understand this.
Your inability to grasp that they are hypocrites precisely because they pray in public is really annoying. I take this to mean you understand what these passages state, but don't like the implications leading you to be intentionally difficult. The other option is that you genuinely struggle with reading comprehension; I seriously doubt this is the case.
