I won a steam copy of DOTA2 months ago but can't get in to it at all. I prefer rpg online or not with Sacred2 and Antrim being among my favourites.

Overrated games

Not anywhere near being perfect in fact. Most critic reviews give it perfect scores. The game has so many issues that it simply doesn't deserve the praise. Other Elder Scrolls games had the same kinds of issues but I felt their world and the questlines in Morrowind and Oblivion were actually a lot more fun than Skyrim. I may not have put as many hours into the other games but I can sure say I enjoyed the fewer hours more. I'd really rather not go into the whole PC MASTER RACE bullshit. If you have to use mods to make a game better, then the game itself sucks. Period. Personally I enjoyed Oblivion infinitely more, mostly due to the level of spell/enchantment customization and the sheer amount of quests. The newest Batman: Arkham Origins was a major letdown after Arkham City. I played it for a little bit, then never went back. Thank goodness for GameFly.
The biggest letdown I've experienced for a game in a while was Max Payne 3. I really enjoyed that franchise for PS2, and the newest one was not nearly dark enough (set in Sao Paolo) and just lame overall. Oh and Ace Combat 6! Oh, what a terrible game. I am a franchise devotee, and when a new platform game comes out that completely blows, you lost me.

Y'know what I think is very frequently overrated by a lot of people? Classic games. Gamers, especially older ones, frequently complain that the total libraries of game consoles today are filled mostly with shit. This is true. Those same gamers also seem to labor under the delusion that this is some kind of new phenomenon. It's not. Most Atari games were absolute garbage. Most NES games were terrible. Most 16 bit games were lousy. Etc.
And, you know, this thing of "the current generation sucks more than the others" is itself not a new trend. I remember seeing gamers make the same nostalgia-tinged complaints going all the way back to the 32/64 bit era.
Too true Ryantology. I frequent GOG.com quite a lot now, and there's a hell of a lot of overrated shit on there. There's some decent games which I'd call 'classics' but most of them are not worth playing.
