Skyrim is actually worse on the PC in a way. The whole menu system is made for a controller and is a real bastard to use with a keyboard.

The Metal Gear Solid Games. They're more movie than game.

I used to play games, when they came on a diskette... or more than one.
Then the internet came along... and $60 per game for any platform, which made me say, fuck it, not paying that, when I know that it will be less than half in less than half a year! So I downloaded.
Actually, I must have downloaded a game per year, at most, for the past 10 years.
I got that Tomb Raider one, with the young Lara... nice new gameplay for the series, but ends up being repetitive... and those dreadful Quick Time Events.... I could have lived without them. When I downloaded it, I thought it was a tad old, given that it ran just fine on my 6 year old, never top of the line, PC... a few days later I saw it in a store, complete with a life-size doll of Lara... sweet.

As for FPSs, I can't play SpunkGargleWeewee like CoD, but I did become quite proficient in Unreal Tournament (from wayyy back in 1999), GOTY edition.... online, in some german server where they used an automatic sniper rifle with near unlimited ammo, and that was the only gun... Stock full of custom maps and soundtracks... that was nice.
By today's standards, the graphics are probably rubbish, but virtually any PC could run it with a bunch of frames per second to keep up with the frantic pace o respawns and headshots. hmmm..... I wonder....

Skyrim definitely isn't perfect, and certainly doesn't deserve a perfect rating. As of today, I've logged 668 hours in it - and so in terms of bang for the buck, it certainly has delivered. Even with the game and DLC purchased at full price, it's still under 20 cents an hour.

So I suppose I agree - it doesn't live up to a perfect rating. But it is very much worth the purchase price.

Yeah I agree.

Some of the games I've listed are epic games. With the exception of Dishonored (which I really think sucks) all of the games I've talked about are good games and worth the money. I'm more just thinking from the point of view: "Is it what all the hype says it is". I remember waiting from the time Skyrim was announced, expecting it to be the game that ends all games. They built it up like it was going to be the greatest game ever. I trekked for 4 hours in the middle of the night to get this game at midnight release. While I wouldn't say it disappointed me, I can't say it lives up to the enormous hype surrounding it either. It's a very good game. A great game. But it's not a 10/10. And it's nowhere near as good as what Bethesda wanted me to believe it would be prior to release. They overhyped the character interactions, the quests, the customisation, even the setting of Skyrim itself.

I thought skyrim was actually quite bad on relaese, very buggy.

Since I've played mods for nearly every game I've owned, that must mean the game itself sucks, right?

Being able to tailor my experience is highly valuable to me. I'm sorry you hold little value for that.

I liked the Metal Gear Solid games (I never played the fourth, but I have a general idea of what happened in it). Half of the reason why I liked it is because of The Last Days of Foxhound.

Actually, I like Last Days so much that I kind of wish that the games were more in that tone. Highly recommended to anyone who knows the Metal Gear series, perhaps especially if you think it's an overrated series. Also, the comic was enjoyably accurate in predicting how some things turned out. (it debuted before the third game and finished a couple of years before the fourth game came out. Might have to overlook the art style (and, it is a style).
