Wow what a self centered little twat. What made her so special her house was saved? Hell I don't mind her saying that it was a miracle because that would convey the fgeeling I imagine she had, but praiing god for saving her while her neighbor lost everything? WTF.

It's the same principle. These people (subconsciously or otherwise) think god favours them and not others. Somehow they're worthy of having god intervene in their lives whereas the rest of the world isn't.
It's just plain arrogant.
