Is Eve in Hell right now?

RE: Is Eve in Hell right now?
Heaven? I certainly hope not. A person with such qualities deserves reward and recognition in a much more honorable hall. After all, she is the first human with enough dignity, intelligence and balls to essentially tell The Almighty to go fuck himself.

She disobeyed god and started the whole sin trend in humans, so did god put her in an everlasting lake of fire?

If she repented, and god forgave and decided that he did want her to live with him forever why did he continue to expel her from his garden and continue to condemn her children?

If she is in hell, does she really deserve it? 6000 years of torture is a pretty stiff sentence served for unwittingly listening to another supreme being that you had no previous reasons to mistrust.

First of all, I'm not certain myself that hell is a place where people suffer for eternity. The bible is clear that there is a hell and it's a terrible place, but seems to speak more to eventual total destruction or to eventual repentance and salvation. Eternal suffering was the view taken by the catholic church, and is the most popular now, but not in the early days of christianity. Eve could be with God now, depending on her relationship with him when she died. Old testament believers were saved the same way we are - by Jesus' atoning sacrifice. They believed in the coming messiah. Many assume they waited in Sheol, the place where the Jews believed all good and bad people went after death, until the sacrifice was completed. I'd also like to say that Satan is not a supreme being. He only does that which God allows him to do. He has no power to enforce anything on us.

This is pretty much what I was going to say.

She wouldn't be in heaven because she wouldn't have been able to accept Jesus as her lord and savior, and heaven didn't exist yet. She wouldn't be in hell because hell didn't exist yet.

Apparently, she's in sheol, as is everyone from the first 4,000 years of creation.

I could would probably agree with you on that, except I believe that as of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross, the old testament believers either went to heaven then or will be taken to heaven upon his final coming.

I thought she'd be in hell, partying it up with Adam's first wife, Lilith.

The things those girls must get up to . . .
Dying to live, living to die.

Perhaps, although the Bible is silent on the matter.

Yeah. It's not crystal clear. The bible does say that Jesus died for the sins of all mankind. So that would include pre-new testament believers as well.

True. It also says they have to believe in Jesus to make it to heaven. Now, it seems "fair" that they shouldn't be left behind, but at that point, I've gone outside of the Bible and into pure speculation.

RE: Is Eve in Hell right now?
In the final analysis, God punished Eve unjustly. She ate the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good And Evil. Even though God told her and her hubby not to eat this fruit, prior to eating it, they couldn't possibly have known that disobeying God was an evil act.

So, it doesn't much matter if Eve is in hell or not. Simply by visiting women with pain in childbirth and ejecting the couple from the Garden, God meted out punishment for what was, in Eve's mind, not a sin, not a crime, not an evil act - she simply lacked the requisite knowledge to know that what she was doing was wrong.

It is as if you told your teenage son that he has an 11:00 PM curfew, but you tell him in Mandarin, which he does not speak. He arrives home that night at 11:03 and you beat him with a stick, all the while shouting, 'I told you! I told you!' It doesn't matter whether you told him or not, when he has no way of knowing WHAT you told him.

This sort of thing makes me wonder if there's anything - anything at all - that the Bible got right.

Right, so God allows Satan to continue to do evil.

Therefore God is not all good.
