I'm thinking Reagan's Alzheimer diagnosis was actually made in his first term, not that I am excusing too much of the outrages he committed or were committed in his name, but it explains quite a bit.

At the time he was described as sleepwalking through the presidency by some pundits, the truth was actually a little more severe. IMO, he made being a dunce far more socially acceptable, and t he nation has paid a staggering price for it since.
