"What is the meaning of life?"...

Atheists have only two choices: 1) you are a biological robot programmed by the initial conditions of the universe or 2) your existence is absurd and devoid of meaning. Either way you are a slave.

Shame that I am an evolved 'choice machine' (borrowing Dennett).

Chad,
You really should give this more thought. This will rightly be considered a backhanded compliment; but, so be it...

I rarely encounter a person with your reasoned consideration so diametrically opposed to what I consider [i[reality[/i]. Don't get me wrong, I still think you're full of shit...you just make me work for the right to the conviction.

What does that even mean? Dennett, in his typical self-conceit, disguises his absurd oxymoron with a false air of profundity. Shame you fell for it.

I watched a debate once where Richard Dawkins responded to the question, "what is the meaning of life?" and in essence he said the question itself was silly. He equated it to asking, "what is the color of jealousy?" Certainly this is a question you can ask, but is it a rational one? Definitely not. It's our role to make the question rational for ourselves.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I'm sure you're great at scrabble.

I think profundity is nearly 20 point word on it's own...
