1. No they don't

2. Because there's no such thing as 'atheistic belief' [???]

Atheism = lack of belief in a god or gods.

And besides, beliefs grant nobody privileged status. Beliefs are not sacrosanct; they're there to be ridiculed, laughed at and criticised. Which is what people are (and should be) doing when confronted with a belief that revolves around absolving a book of all its (numerous) contradictions to satisfy someone's imagination that a big invisible sky fairy exists.

Now, feel free to criticise my beliefs. I don't mind. Smile

a) It's an atheist website

b) Try not having such silly beliefs. People will be less prone to make fun of them.

Proverbs 17:26

"It is not good to punish an innocent man, or to flog officials for their integrity."

Looky there! The god of the bible being a hypocrite? Who'da thunk??

only if literal bible is true. But it is false.

But, is the life of a child the most important thing in this world? Stupid is as stupid does. Only "yes" is stupid. So if I answer "yes" I am stupid.

Thats what I took from the bible.

Is that meant to be a reply to me? I didn't mention the bible? Or children?

Please could you clarify what you're saying, thanks.

The funny thing is that everyone continues to make the same basic mistake, which is thinking that the God character is a real invisible celestial being. In reality, the God character as depicted in the Old Testament stories was just a series of Assyrian/Babylonian Emperors who ruled the Middle East for centuries. The Israelite/Hebrew/Jewish kings were just their flunkies. Once you understand that then you can appreciate the fairy tales for what they are. The God character died when the last Babylonian Emperor died with the collapse of the Babylonian Empire. He isn't coming back.

Oh what a merciful god -- only "seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died" to punish one man for his transgressions. Nope. Nothing vengeful there.

That is an amazing claim - I've never hear that one before.

Surely you don't believe in Zeus, Set, Thor, Baal, winged angels, spirits, ghosts, demons, and zombies?

It's a historical fact that the Assyrians/Babylonians and Persians ruled the Middle East for centuries. Israel was never an independent country. It was always someone's bitch. Even Egypt was their flunky at various times. The Bible stories are just an attempt to put a positive spin on being a doormat.

Read Genesis 2:14.

It's been my observation that most atheists treat the God character as real but they don't like him, which is why they don't believe (or trust) in him. It's extremely difficult to free oneself from a lifetime of intensive brainwashing.
