We Told You So!

RE: We Told You So!
Obama and Bush are cut from the same cloth, the major difference is that one knows how to talk and play the game extremely well.

As a european, can I ask why americans are not satisfied with Obama's presidency? A very quick explanation will suffice.

Continuation of Bush Doctrine, federal raids on marijuana dispensaries in states that allow medical pot, failure to close Guantanamo, no real oversight of Wall Street, no accountability for crimes committed by CIA or bankers under Bush, a shitty Republican heath care overhaul (his 'signature' achievement), a crackdown on journalism and whistleblowing, no apparent effort to 'change how Washington works,' those are the initial things that come to mind. I'm sure right-wingers have a completely different list of qualms.

I agree with everything that Pickup said. It's not just a continuation of the Bush doctrine, but the significant increase in drone use. In fact I'll claim that there is no real substantive difference between the administrations in any endeavor. Obama's second term is the fourth term for George W. Bush.

I was enamored with the promise of transparency which would have forced some accountability; however, I believe things are worse with the constant evasion and attempts to manipulate the media.

What bothers me the most is the continuation of the perpetual campaigning. Nobody is willing to work to solve problems, only to continue demonization for the sake of scaring up votes. With effort we could pass meaningful pragmatic legislation in one congressinal term that would reform current immigration, tax, communication, healthcare and corporate governance law. In addition we could enact responsible energy and education guidelines.

You forgot lack of transparency and kickbacks to campaign fund raisers/supporters.

Reagan will be my #1 worst for a very long time.

Pandering to the religiousites while not having any discernable actual religious sentiments of his own, and the religiousites still thinking of him as a messiah was extremely grating.

Nancy siccing her court/royal astrologer on Don Regan (CoS) and then Nancy NOT being crucified for consorting with a witch by those same religiousites was also extremely grating.

Supreme Court nominee Bork finding the 10th amendment meaningless and inapplicable was a wake up call to some, unfortunately, many who should have been horrified weren't since it was Reagan that trotted him out.

Nancy bitterly griping about the Kitty Kelly 'tell all' and then penning her own book, and CONFIRMING the hot poop was hysterical (OK, I liked that part of the Reagan experience)

My belief Reagan's progressing Alzheimer's was evident to his doctors during his first term remains unproven.

In my view, Reagan's inaction during the onset of the AIDS crisis constitutes a crime against humanity, and I don't have a problem with a posthumous conviction for it

There's a bit of bullshit here. Yes, Reagan was woefully late making any public pronouncements regarding the disease; however, the CDC was thoroughly involved from the onset. There was no crime against humanity.

My first thought when I hear "Americans prefer [whatever]" is that America is riddled with morons.

Woefully or criminally, we're debating degrees, not the fact of culpability.

This is what happens when you preach hope and change and all you deliver is hypocrisy.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
