Dennet and Hitchens I like. Dawkins on atheism can be overly strident, but he does make the case. ANYTHING by Ehrman is good if you are interested in history, early christianity, or the bible.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

I can't find them in stores, my only chance is to import a copy translated either to portuguese or english, but it's hard to receive the delivery without her noticing. I assume that you're either underage or still living at home? Is there some other address you can use to receive mail? Do you work in an office? I frequently have things shipped to my office simply because I don't want them left on my doorstep for anyone to steal, or I don't know if I'll need to sign for the delivery. Do you have a sympathetic friend who is willing to receive shipments for you? What about a PO box or something? Is your mom (or both your parents) planning a trip anytime soon? You could time your purchase so that it arrives while they're not home... Do you buy other things online? Like video games? Or other books in general? Or would these packages showing up for you be unusual?
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

Importing a book about science and the universe is ok, she'll appreciate the fact I'm gaining more knowledge and reading more. But imagine a book arriving with the cover 'the god delusion'... Even my mom is having crisis of faith, I gave her a book that pretty much dismissed Jesus being the messiah and she has been having doubts.

Tell her its about archaeology of she asks. She'll have to read it to find out the truth and then....you'll have her! Bwahahahaha! So can anyone recommend a good read, preferably something I could get on my Kindle? Here's a good list. List of anti-theism books MM

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment) (July 25, 2014 at 1:35 am)Minimalist Wrote: http://shopping.search.yahoo.com/search;...arch-yhsif No. I'll just keep offering her more books like 'The Da Vinci Code' until she loses faith. I'm close.

You guys could always read some of the Bible or Quran. It is good to know both sides. It will make your argument against belief that much stronger.
