Sounds like Prof. is shooting for the pure sacrificial servant route. Hows your relationship with your father, professor?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Professor, now that rapture hasn't happened (and who knows it won't happen for another 2000 years, LOL), can you tell us what is your reaction to an atheist who says, "God doesn't exist. People who believe are either delusional or wasting their time". What's your reaction - does that lead you to reflect and question your own beliefs or do you have a knee-jerk reaction that all atheists are plain wrong on this?

Luckie, my dad made it.
About 25 years ago I got a call from Mom to take him to the hospital, he went into a coma there and was gone.
My mom is always ticked at Dad for escaping so may troubling times that she has been thru.
She is 92 and wants to go home (heaven).
The Rapture can't happen fast enough for her.
At one time, we were a poster family for dis-function.
The unique thing about goofed up people is (unlike most well balanced people from happy families)-
we had strong motivation to find the heavy duty answers to life's questions.

No Pocaracas,
That event for people alive during this age (as differentiated from the age to come- the Millennium under the rule of Messiah) is a one shot deal.
This age terminates at the 2nd Coming.
There will be another translation event at the end of the Millennium (a thousand years from now) for those who are alive then, prior to the new heavens and earth.
Remember, I noted there is a Rapture event for each age (or Epoch) for a total of 4 for the complete 7 thousand year plan of God.
Enoch, Elijah, the Christians (who are ready), then at the end of the Millennium- the alive in Christ.

My wife had her third and fourth coming just yesterday before dinner. Although she claims each was apocalyptic -and I believe her - the effects of the successive apocalypses upon the subsequent world seem to have been minimal. She still made me do dishes.
