That was a mature post?

My thoughts on militant atheism:

That fucking militant atheist, assaulting me with that horrid fashion sense.

Whenever some self-righteous prick tells me to make nicey nice with the vile scourge of theism, my reaction is to unleash massive amounts of blasphemy as the antidote against the pathogen.

Maybe after I walk down to the mail box...

So, you're alright with, as an example, consistently degrading educational standards as ideologically minded theists continue to tamper with the regimen in order to inject their baseless, incorrect beliefs? That's okay with you?

Quote:Militant Atheists seek to insult and belittle religious people who find their religion above all else to be logical, if they did not find their belief to be logical they would not believe in it. This form of logic is not dependent on evidence but rather it is a matter of faith.

So what if they find it logical? If a serial killer found their actions to be logical, would you be okay with that too? Or is there some fucking upper limit to "acceptable" beliefs in your mind, and you just can't muster the care about religious beliefs?

Quote: Further more you will never be able to argue against someone and win that argument, you will never be able to prove something for someone but they must prove it for themselves.

Flatly incorrect, as my fiancee and numerous other ex-theist atheists will attest. Given that you're just wrong here, we evidently aren't "wasting our time," and you can revise your argument accordingly, by retracting it.

Not that I think you will; for a supposed atheist I don't think you'll be intellectually honest enough. But we'll see. Rolleyes

Quote:Pop quiz - what are the Three Pillars of atheism? No googleing around now... Seems to be rich Sheiks. Probably Wahabists from Saudi Arabia.

Possible, however unrelated to why atheists should silently let fucking idiots run rough-shod over the Earth. ISIS looks very much like a pure implementation of Islam, in all its vile, repugnant glory.

No, I pride myself on requiring evidence for any belief I may have. All the major religions are a cancerous blight on the planet. The world will be a better place without religious bullshittery.

And now, a Prophecy from JHC. LO! and Listen Up Yo! -- I see this thread quickly going Ark-orgy in a matter of a few pages.

May Mohamed be bathed in pigs blood and Jesus give blow jobs to all comers. Only $5!

You see, when you tell us NOT to blaspheme so-called sacred things, the BEST thing we can do, as a free society is to not be constrained by arbitrary, sensibilities.

Sorry my friend. Just ain't gonna happen. Specially round these parts.

I don't care what the pillars of atheism are. You understand that the United States and Russia have been vying for control in th Middle East since the start of the Cold War right? When Russia gained prominence, the United States funded and trained rebel groups to fight against the Russians and vice versa, all across the world. There was little talk of religious wars here, these were pure secular wars fought for control of the resources and power. All wars are thus.

Try reading the Quran you'll understand that the actions taken by ISIS are actually quite against its teachings. (At least in what I've read so far)

Ah the classical blame religion for all the problems in the world, the perfect scapegoat isn't it? After all how could humans ever be capable being of such malicious character by their own natural ignorance and stupidity?

Learn about Islam, talk with Muslims, before you presume to know about them. Have you done this? OR do you believe whatever the news tells you about these foreign people who live thousands of miles away from you whom you don't know anything about?

You're very narrow minded from what I can see, perhaps I am wrong, but at least I am not surprised or suffer from disappointment. After all... this is what I expected from my fellow atheists, pure ignorance.

Yeeeeah I have a hard time believing either that you're an atheist or you're intellectually honest.

Celestine,

Can I ask you to clarify what it is you mean by "militant atheist"?
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Trick question! There aren't any pillars of atheism. Some atheist you turned out to be.,

Quote:Try reading the Quran you'll understand that the actions taken by ISIS are actually quite against its teachings. (At least in what I've read so far)

You haven't read very much of the Quran if that's what you think it contains.

Quote:Ah the classical blame religion for all the problems in the world, the perfect scapegoat isn't it? After all how could humans ever be capable being of such malicious character by their own natural ignorance and stupidity?

Religion gives humans an imprimatur to do evil, creates the infrastructure and does the brainwashing for the dumb sheep.

Quote:Learn about Islam, talk with Muslims, before you presume to know about them. Have you done this? OR do you believe whatever the news tells you about these foreign people who live thousands of miles away from you whom you don't know anything about?

Why yes I have dear. Islam is a vile, foul, perverse idealogy. I know more than enough. It seems however, that you do not, if you think there is nothing naughty in the Quran.

Quote:You're very narrow minded from what I can see, perhaps I am wrong, but at least I am not surprised or suffer from disappointment. After all... this is what I expected from my fellow atheists, pure ignorance.

I think you will find most of us are anything but ignorant. After all, knowledge if the main self-defense tool we use against religious bat-shittery.

And now, a cartoon from my avatar's source:
