My point is that whenever you want to know something for sure, you test it. You try to falsify it. However, you say you shouldn't test God. That's you like you saying, "you shouldn't try to falsify my belief." It's convenient because you'll never try to falsify it.

My point was, whenever you have trusted god, in whatever situation you are talking about, how did you know it was god? How was gods supposed intervention distinguishable from just shit happening? Why do you think god intervenes in your life but doesn't help all those kids dying of aids and malaria?

Yes, yes, yes. Though all too often parents forget that their role is not only to prepare their children, but also to release them. Both are equally important

Holy Cow. Release them? I am a long ways from dealing with that. I do love my girls! Releasing them will probably be the most challenging experience for me. But who knows. They are only 7 years old and 3 weeks old. I hope that when it is time to release them, they will be ready for the world. I will have done my best to prepare them to be released.

Why, from your behavior, it's almost as though your God doesn't, you know....exist.

Also, in the Bible, there is that bit about Elijah *seriously* testing God in a duel between the priests of Baal and Yahweh.

25 Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.” 26 So they took the bull given them and prepared it.

SPOILER ALERT: Later on, God shows his marvelous magical powers and Boom!, take that suckers! God is real, see! Bet you weren't expecting that, you devil-worshiping Baal mo fos! And then all the priests of Baal were slaughtered, and there was a big feast and everyone lived happily ever after. The end.

We see no evidence from your god. Haven't seen anything, well, ever.

Clearly, this is yet another one of those vexing bible contradictions. On the one hand, the Bible makes a *point* of God being tested *in a tangible, demonstrable, visible manner*, and later, when God seems to fade into the woodwork, now it's all "don't test mah power bitch!, lest ye not hear nothin' nohow!"

But we never hear anything, regardless.

Just as we would expect from a non-existent thingy.

Oh please, of course I don't think it's real, but I'm assuming you do. This is no different than pointing out plot holes in some Star Wars scene. Except you believe in wookies, Endor and Darth Vader...

Like any other fictional character, your God seems to only be able to do things in a story book, but when the time comes is woefully unable to do anything right here, right now.

My point in using the Elijah story is *you* and your god are now, no different than Baal and his adherents. Your god is utterly silent as was Baal.

You are also deflecting as you said "don't test God" and yet your story book has an example of just how god was tested and the results.

"Don't test god" translates as "Don't got nothing to show".
