Is it weird that I consider myself straight and I'm so interested in guys?

It's an atheist forum. I've met a few atheists who came from religious environments, but lost faith when they couldn't "cure" their homosexual tendancies with prayer.

I would still consider myself straight though. I have reasons why.

I think fantasizing about sex with a guy almot exclusively is kinda the definition of gay; at least for a dude it is, isn't it?

Quote: I just find our culture to be too heteronormative for myself to really ever feel comfortable fitting in as a bisexual man.

So, why are you letting culture define your sexual orientation? Date who you want, fuck who you want and to hell with what the rest of the world says about it.

Quote: Most guys are gross. They're bro dudes that are aggressive, obnoxious sports fans, hairy, fat, ugly. It's not even a matter of their personality, it's a matter of they just look like such a turnoff.

Clearly, you're looking at the wrong guys. There are some dudes out there who are damn sexy. I mean, have you ever seen Chris Angel with his shirt off? Heart

Quote: I could be someone's friend if they were ugly, but I would never want to fuck a football player. I find that most gay guys have very different taste in men than I do.

Given your misconception about guys being hairy, ugly, gross, dudebros, I'm led to question whether or not you've actually met very many gay guys. I've met several and I honestly don't know very many at all who fit that bill.

Don't worry so much about labels and just do what works for you. You find a girl or a guy you're into and they're into you, do what comes naturally. Don't worry so much what people call you or what they say about you and just live your life; don't devote your life to worrying about what everybody else thinks or expects of you. I made that mistake and I so wish I could take it back.

Judging from previous posts I've seen from OP, my best guess is that he's gay, but he's fallen in with a brand of "social justice" that's especially hostile towards men and masculinity. Yes, they exist and they're bullshit; I've seen my boyfriend, go through a tremendous amount of angst because of those attitudes. As for OP, I'm guessing it's resulting in him having a difficult time recociling his sexual attraction towards men and the 'men-are-scum' attitude of his social group. Which is another reason you need to stop worrying what other people think and just do what works for you. If they're haters, let them hate and don't give any of them the attention they so desperately want.

If you don't want to take that advice, I suggest you go visit Atheism+ and they'll just help you feed that misandric attitude you seem to be carrying.

Nah, I've met plenty of gay guys and most of them are not dudebros. What I meant is that that is how guys in general are.

Then if gay dudes are more to your liking, why are you not dating them?

What does dudebros mean?
Are you implying gay people act a certain way?

I'm not effeminate even though I'm a Sub, is that weird?

I dunno where to find them Tongue I looked up grindr when I was on my campus and there were a bunch of old guy non college students on my campus. I don't actually have a grindr account though. I just wanted to see if anyone who looked like they were from my campus used it.

"Dudebro" might mean overly, or at least overtly, macho man. Fratboys, jocks (most who aren't on varsity sports teams). I just say "bro". "Alpha male" as well?

Ok, I'm assuming your college has a gay/straight alliance, right? Go to it. You'll meet people there. There's a whole gay community out there; go to some of the gay themed events and you'll meet more and more people.

Dating sites aren't really my thing, so I don't mess with grindr and my OKCupid account hasn't been touched for months (and even then, it was mostly to goof around on the forums there). I find better relationships with people I meet irl; dating sites like that are good for hook-ups and I'm sure I could easily get a few of those if I wanted, but if you want something more substantial, they aren't the place to go.

yep

I really want to try a gay/straight alliance thing. I just feel a bit scared to try it. I bet the meetings would be after school and I would end up asking my parents to give me a ride and I would probably want to tell them what the meeting I was going to was. I just don't know if I want to do that because I don't feel comfortable talking about my sexuality. I'm also a little afraid that I won't really fit in to the group. I'm not even sure what a gay/straight alliance meeting would do. Would everyone just get together and say "oh yeah, we're gay or straight and we support gay rights. Another successful meeting. Cya next week everyone".

Good idea. It's okay to window shop at these things. More than anything it might help you to hear what people really think about things who are not homophobic.

Anyway, you don't need labels. Just do whatever you want as long as no one gets hurt

I wonder if it's because atheists are more prepared to be open about who they really are?Thinking

I have no proof for this, it's just an idea.
