For now, though, I can say that there is already a perfectly natural, everyday example of what happens when blood vessels are compromised for whatever reason and blood seeps into surrounding tissues. We call them bruises.

No, you've answered every question, and as you say, bruises deal with massive amounts of blood in the wrong place.

So if, for example, one of these capillaries is malformed and doesn't join to a venule, then what would happen with blood just constantly pumping into a dead end?

This happens all the time - when you get a bruise it's blood leaking into the surrounding tissue after a break in the arterial/capillary tissue.

Luckily blood also transports around the material necessary to fix this (platelets).
