Why Something Rather Than Nothing?
RE: Why Something Rather Than Nothing?
So datc , did you ever read the article I suggested on page 5 about infinite regress or did you just choose not to comment ?

Here is the link (again):

Still doesn't explain how you test a hypothesis.

Yes, but they all involve observable facts and inferences drawn from them. So what observable facts an inferences do "divine science" rely on and provide?

Theology has no facts, no knowledge, It is empty and devoid of any basis in reality. It is all made up.

Quote:Dualism does not entail theism. For example, philosophically, it is possible that humans, like the material universe, have always existed. There is an endless cycle of deaths and rebirths. Each individual upon death goes to some sort of afterlife where he might linger for a few years or a few billion years, until he is reborn unto this world anew. As a result, humans were never "created."

It is not possible that humans have existed forever and humans were never created.

The evidence for evolution of humans is clear.

Quote:Matter has existed forever, but it is possible that so have, under dualism, spirits. Hence, the conclusion that God created life and human beings does not follow even if abiogenesis is false.

No, matter coalesced from energy as the universe expanded. There was no matter until the universe expanded and cooled sufficiently.

I think it depends on how you define Theology

Give us a definition that is at all meaningful.

Some say that theology is the study of the christian god, some say it's the study of all religion

None of which contain any actual facts, so what is being studied?

In the latter more inclusive definition = comparative religion, philosophy and unbiased study of religion in general
