How boring that would be.
Well, that's what you would think... and then:

And...
Pac Man. Yeah, wait, sorry: Mrs. Pac Man. Wanna talk about feminism and freaking gaming, ugh.

The blame goes to whoever wrote such a shitty verse that can so easily be interpreted as permission to rape your spouse. I actually think your interpretation of it makes much less sense. Besides I just said that I wish people wouldn't quote the verse so much. It haunted my life for way too many years and I hate it.
I'm not seeing where in the verse it explicitly states that one ought go and rape their wife when their wife isn't feeling it. People tend to look for *anything* that will "justify" their doing something that they are lead to believe is morally wrong... anything such that they can convince themselves that they're better than they are.
What's disgusting is not a couple of lines in a book, any book, no matter what those lines say... what is disgusting is people raping...
And what is loathsome is when they can't even own up to themselves, and cite *something else* as their justification for it. How many rapists can look themselves in the eye and say something along the lines of 'I raped that skanky little bitch because I wanted to fuck their innards out of their asshole.'
Not so many are willing to claim themselves as *a* reason for the rape, let alone *the*.

I think you underestimate the number of female rapists. And regardless, the line of argument holds up: would you thrash your own body around such that you will leave bruises, and possibly broken/fractured bones, simply for a quick thrill? Or threaten yourself with your children should you not do as you say to yourself?
As it's your own body, I can't imagine it was that difficult to do... but they're hurting themselves if they are to use this verse for such a ridiculous conclusion as rape.
