Heywood, maybe you should familiarize yourself with what the NAACP is actually trying to accomplish, rather than your racist generalization of what they are.
NAACP Press Kit
Quote:The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, economic equality of rights for all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination
(bold mine)
Their welcome statement on their homepage Wrote:Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. From the ballot box to the classroom, the thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders and members who make up the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all Americans.
(bold mine)
Mia Love has called for the elimination of the US Department of Education, and the reduction of federal aide to students, two things the NAACP would, of course, have HUGE problems with.
Tim Scott opposes same-sex marriage, another thing the NAACP would have a HUGE problem with.
Why would you call for the NAACP's endorsement of two people they obviously want nothing to do with, and who, more than likely, set the NAACP's cause back?

So a black Guy who votes against the issues 99% of black people believe in is somehow progress? It amazes me how republicans can really get away with saying black people vote against them and generally hate them because blacks are too stupid to vote Republican and don't what's best for them only white people know whats good for black people, then claim they're not racist for thinking that. The naacp has had problems with Scott for years calling him nothing but a puppet for the right and he receives zero support from blacks in his state.
I suppose if a black Guy became the grand dragon for the kkk teabaggers would call it progress

You're always there to fight generalisations. Honestly, I let you make the points, since I'm no native speaker and have to translate all I want to say into a foreign language. But I too am part of a minority. I'm half jewish by birth andh hate generalisation just as much.

Are you suggesting that the NAACP is not actually in the business of promoting the advancement of Colored people but rather is in the business of promoting an ideology?
You seem to be making my case.

Well, not "an" ideology, per se... and ok.
The NAACP is that in name only. It's not about "colored people" anymore; rather, it's about civil rights for "all Americans". They're extremely upfront about that. What's the problem with that?

The textbook definition win "left wing" is egalitarianism meaning "equality" the naacp stands for equality and because of that they will be forever left wing.
Don't pretend to be a "right winger" and also stand for "equality" you support hierarchy. So please enlighten us as too what kind of people should live like shit and another group live like kings and more importantly why you think this is justified but don't pretend like you believe in "equality"

My color:

But you're absolutely right that I fight generalizations. I'm not part of a minority myself, but my son is, my two nieces and my nephew are, and even if I didn't have any family in a discriminated class, I would still speak out against generalizations, because not only are they sloppy thinking, they harm real people.

Tim Scott's name was blasted all over the news as being the first black senator to be elected since re-construction. Mia Love is the first black republican woman to elected elected to congress. These are great accomplishments by people of color yet it gets completely ignored by the NAACP.
NAACP is only for those colored people who share the ideology that whites are not the master race. How bigoted of them.

Tim Scott and Mia Love also share that ideology.....yet the NAACP will not acknowledge that their successes help further that ideology.
Your claim is stupid.

It sounds like we are in agreement. The NAACP name is misleading.
