My naive questions

When I was a mod at TAF, we had a subforum called "The Oubliette" for preachers of this sort, and other dipshits who deserved abuse more than banning. We would limit their posting to that area, change their avatars to one we thought fitting, and allow scorn, abuse, and calumny to be heaped. The only offenses there were posting porn, and being unoriginal with your insults.

We used to have something like that called The Gauntlet, where we would send people (often temporarily) as an alternative to banning. We got rid of it and use temporary bans instead.

Yeah, what happened was that the trolls would tire of their two weeks or a month there and self-ban. But it did provide a relief valve for when a member in good standing had a bad day at work and was in a surly mood ... they could go there and not run afoul of our "no flaming" rule.

Okay Dave, this is the last time I will say this. "Vile and hostile display of chosen language" is not a violation of Forum Rules. Clearly you ignored my last instruction on this. You will report Rules violations through the usual channels and let Staff decide if there is an issue for concern. If you do not acknowledge this message in your very next post, you will be reported. Now, on a scale of 1 to Ken Ham, how clear am I making myself?
