I Really Hate The Concept Of Free Will

...Its more like the addict who cannot give up their substance (because they delight in it) even though it makes the rest of their life a wreck. Its all about choices (free will) with cause and effect. If orgies are someone's thing then they have chosen sexuality devoid of intimacy.

Contrary to what many religious people believe, not all atheists have taken part in an orgy. Being one of the members of the more boring segment of atheism, I have no idea if people who engage in orgies also get a level of emotional intimacy from the experience. Perhaps there is a group cuddle after all orgies.

I understand that many people are born into their faith but there is a lot of information today available about different religions. Why not join a softer version of your own faith or convert into something with a nice, friendly deity or deities. Or just make something up like Mormonism or Scientology.

Do you actually mean, exercising free will will make you addicted to freedom and ultimately lead to orgies?

That's not how it works in many cases. You only have to look at some of our board members. They refuse to even look outside of their bubble.

I think, and he can correct me if I am wrong, Chad wooters is saying that without Jesus we are going to get addicted to something that Chad Wooters would consider a sin. Sex without being married is a sin so if we aren't Christians we would be addicted to sex and want orgies. That means that hell is full of orgies but we won't really enjoy them because sex without emotional intimacy must be horrible... and lead to orgies.

See, right when you think that someone has invented a rather cool idea of hell, they throw a curve and you realize that their version of hell isn't that fun afterall. Somehow, the nonbeliever is going to suffer.

It's understandable as long as we speak of archaic societies but in a modern society it's somewhat ridiculous (although upon closer inspection it turns out that so called 'modern societies' are not that modern after all).

That's a step that I considered taking, once I made the decision that I could really be a christian. The problem with the nicer versions of christianity is that you still have an innocent guy being tortured to death for other people's sins. Taking away the idea of a burning eternal lake of fire only solves part of the problem.

I considered Buddhism, but I decided to just be a good person in my own way, without following someone else's philosophy.
