The very reason that the women were offered was because the gang wouldn't take "no" for an answer regarding the men. They were near to breaking the door down to get at the men. Yet, you guys try to spin it as consensual. Interesting.
Huh? Who the hell is spinning it to be consensual? Lot offered his daughter up like a lambchop to a pack of fucking wild dogs. Nothing consensual about it.
As noted, it's the attempted rape of the male guests that you guys want to pretend to be consensual. And if not for that, Lot wouldn't have been in a position to need to offer up his daughters. Yet, you guys excuse the gang and blame Lot. It's really amazing.

A father offering up his children to be brutally raped? Anything just about that?

Why didn't he offer himself if he cared so much?

Who the hell is excusing the gang that wants to rape them? Of course thats a horrific thing, don't pretend like we'd ever agree with that, asshole.

The point is that Lot offered up his own daughter to appease the mob. You can't honestly look on that and say it's a morally acceptable thing to do.

As noted, one of your brethren referred to the desire of the gang for the men as merely wanting to have sex, but referred to the offering of the daughters as gang rape. Maybe you should just butt out if you're not going to follow along.

And I haven't. I noted that Lot's actions may be the reason that he was not considered righteous, and ended up in a cave in the mountains.

Also note that some cultures have very strict codes requiring protection of a guest. Did you see or read Lone Survivor?

Are...you serious? The "consesual" thing to which was being referred is fuckin sodomy, sex between a man and a man, that drew the destructive ire of God, not the gang of rapists at Lot's door. Man on man sex gets you fireballs, offering your daughter up for a gang of rapists? Meh...

Do you honestly believe any of us would look at the gang of rapists and even try to portray it as "just consensual sex with a man"? Jesus dude..

And I don't care what sort of relativistic cultural justification you want to bring in.

So what can we learn from this nice little story? Pimping to be gang raped and fucking the own daughter. Still worthy to be saved. Sodomy, very bad, justifies genocide.
Lot was in a desperate situation which would not have even come about if not for the gang that wanted to rape his guests. Yes, they clearly deserve far worse punishment than Lot. It's only your bias that blinds you to this.

Lot wouldn't have even been in the situation if he hadn't insisted that they come inside his house. He desperately urged them to come inside, then when the men were at his door he offered his daughters up. I would say that valuing strangers over your children is a bit worse than gang raping men.

I know there have and still are traditions to that extent.

Here's the thing: Lot's a dirty coward. He throwing his daughter to the wolfs. The honest thing to do would have been offering himself.

And the best thing about it, the angels made the mob blind, so that they couldn't find the door. But they didn't extend the courtesy to the daughters.

Why didn't God just prevent the fucking situation in the first place? Why even let his angels be visible to men?

There migth have been an original story where the visitors were just men. That would explain why they would be in danger in the first place, and given some depictions of angels, why they would even look like Human beings. I have heard that at one time angels were,'t Humans with wings and halos. They were more like eldritch abominations, which is why they tend to say "do not be afraid" when they appear before people.

RE: Rape in the Bible
interesting side note: as with so many Bible stories, there are pagan parallels to this. The whole story about Baucis and Philemon was about Gods visiting mortals to see how they would be treated
