The name of a tree does not usually contain information about what happens to you when you eat it's fruit. Expecting Adam to know it would actually give you knowledge is a bit of a stretch, especially as God was trying to stop them by threatening death so didn't want him to know this. At best he was implying you get knowledge but die.
And not knowing what good and evil are, he had no idea what that even meant.
God was not being up front. He was taking advantage of helpless people for his own amusement.

Reliability of the creation account
|
Can't speak for Rob, but the creation account is nothing more than a fairy tale. Just like the other accounts posted on previous pages.
So evolution is a fairy tale as it is also a creation account?

It is a theory that states how the universe was formed, therefore by your statement if with all the ohers is a fairytale.
Evolution says nothing about how the Universe formed.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Been there about a million times. http://www.livescience.com/21491-what-is...heory.html So no, not playing on the same field as creation tales. No. Evolution kicks arse.
For sure, of course the creation account is just a fairy tail. But I was demonstrating that even if you take it as fact, you are relying on gods testimony, with no other evidence, that he created everything. Feel free to send me a private message.
