But you know how that is with people. Some people join the church and become leaders to do such vile things and keep a shit eating grin on their face as they preach. One would wonder why doesn't the Vatican do background checks on people or any church even for that matter. If i have kids yeah...they will be looked after by me if a preacher wants to teach them about god. That's if they want to go and be religious i won't hold it against them they have the choice.

It's been pointed out that at some point from the mid eighties onward, state school teachers over here in the UK began to be predominantly female because a man who expressed an interest in applying for a post that brought him into contact with children was immediately suspect, regardless of any actual sinister intent or background. The mere fact of wanting the job was enough to disqualify them on potential sexual misconduct grounds.
How much more should this apply to the clergy, in which these cases are a matter of known and ongoing record? "So you want to be a priest? Fine, well there's the door - the officer outside will show you to your cell."
