My girlfriend is a scientologist.... I'm not...

RE: My girlfriend is a scientologist.... I'm not...
Hello and welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear about your situation. One more thing to consider is that as far as I know, Scientology collects a lot of information about their members' intimate private life in their question sessions, don't they. I would assume that they get to know a lot about you already, and if you have a child together, they probably will inquire about your convictions and start working on her to bring the child and possibly you into the fold and in the worst case may pressure her to let the child come to training/indoctrination and/or get rid of you. It's not unheard of. She might be threatened to be cut off from her parents if she should not act according to the sect and tries to leave. What's the name they have for people who try to deconvert someone - oppressive persons or so. You might then be considered one, it's not pretty.

By the way, is there a relationship between you and her parents? Do they accept you?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Her father left her and her mother early on and is not really "in the picture"
Her mother is OK with me I suppose, she was never hostile anyway although I haven't really spent any time with her alone without my girlfriend being around so...

Look up some of the accounts on the internet to what lengths scientologists go to draw children into their cult. It's even worse when one parent is a member, since there's the question of custody. It's even something Tom Cruise's ex had to deal with.

David Pakman quite recently featured an interview with an ex scientologist who's husband draw both of their children back into the cult. So you should think twice before even considering having children with that kind of woman.

Scientology is the weirdest shit going. Save her if you can. Otherwise save yourself.

How?
How do you talk to someone who is not willing to listen?
How do you convince someone who refuses rational thought?

You don't. It sounds like you want a relationship with a sentient, logical human being. If you'll forgive my candor, that doesn't appear to be what you have.

As was stated earlier, Scientology is some weird shit.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Maybe the wake up will come when you tell her it's over and why. Deadpan

You can't do this. She has to give up the bullshit, or you risk investing a lifetime in a family that gets poisoned by it.

Everyone has pretty much said it. If she is stout in her belief, it is unlikely that she will ever convert and will more than likely 'poison' the children with what she thinks best.

I believe, short of full-fledged brainwashing, that the children will make their own decision regardless of the situation. My brother and I both did.
