Islam, the middle east, and how arabs are a broken people.

There's always the South.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue RE: Islam, the middle east, and how arabs are a broken people.

It's pointless to argue what "arab" is. The point is there is demographic group that identifies itself as arab, and it's members are disproportionally likely to be believe they've been dealt a shitty hand by modernity, rather than they missed the boat to modernity.
They think modernity didn't offer much that should really be important, while everyone who really embraced modernity is out to deprive them the status in the world that they think should come as a result of having some of what they think ought to be Important. They seem broken because that mentality causes them to rush down what everyone else think is a blind alley. (December 26, 2014 at 9:31 pm)Chuck Wrote: It's pointless to argue what "arab" is. I was once good friends with a gentleman named Hamad Nazir. Decent dude. Met him in a bar. He drank like a damn fish, and always had really good -not tobacco-. He managed the Wells Fargo bank in town. Family from Pakistan, identified as Muslim. All the drinking and smoking aside I actually found the line:
We ordered pizza hut one night, half cheese, half bacon. Would still eat the cheese side (I was like wtf, they're right next to each other, what's the difference at this point.) wouldn't eat bacon side- because Muslim. Hell of a dude to party with, ended up with a pakastani bride and now I don't know him anymore. Oh well.

Not sure, but at some point, something as simple as revulsion may come into play as well. If you're tought your whole life, don't eat pork, you don't eat it because it disgusts you. I wouldn't eat certain things because our culture doesn't eat them and feel revulsion at the mere thought of trying it. RE: Islam, the middle east, and how arabs are a broken people.

Fair enough. But with a specifically religious reason for not eating it I thought it odd. I'm sure the grease was mingling.
