What will it take to convert you?

Perhaps an utter transformation in my experience of the world that casts doubt on all of the scientific method to find sensible solutions to metaphysical questions, and then conversely, justifies all appeal to personal credulity and self-assurance.

A close encounter of the fifth kind would convince me that a god or gods existed, though I might re-evaluate what it was I had experienced after the fact.

But contact with conversation would not necessarily result in my becoming a follower or worshiper. I might even feel that God existed but must be resisted at all cost. It would depend on how that conversation went.

Empirical Evidence is all I need. Like Science, I want evidence like that supporting evolution. I want many different conclusions and proofs all forming a coherent full picture of what I believe in.

That's so easy for any God to provide. I obviously can't be persuaded by ancient fairy tales, exaggerations and out right lies.

All I ask is PROOF

Everything I believe now offered me that in corraborative and collaborated fashion.

but seriously, when some super being fabricates an encounter of the nth kind for you, you are free to call this being a god if you like, but what reason would you have to jump to the conclusion that you are dealing with anything close to the God of monotheism, a creator, an almighty one? None, right?

To any religion? Short of god himself descending from heaven in front of you (even hardcore believers aren't holding their breath).

For myself I'd say god has his/her work cut out. It would probably require altering my ability to exercise free will. Most religions have too many hypocritical practices and texts for me to buy into the bs.

There is a further question if you're a theist. We'll give your intelligence the benifet of the doubt and ask why you still believe with all the evidence against the bible/torah/whatever?

With all the "proof" and "case" threads going on that are either trolls or actually trying convert a few of us, I'm curious.

That's right. How can it prove to be what it says? Anything sufficiently advanced will just seem magical to us.

And again, why would I worship it? Even if he was brilliant? It's a creepy concept.

But many theists will argue god doesn't need to prove he exists to exist.
But i agree with you god needs to prove he exists to know he or she maybe it exists.

No magic show would suffice. Nor would Sony super being. I'd have endless suspicions far ahead if any God conclusion.

But magic is the only thing theists have left... even they can't prove magic exists and science proves magic doesn't exist. So theists have nothing they really have nothing.
