How powerful is god?
#21
RE: How powerful is god?
Dyre, nobody is controlling you.
I do not mean there is a lack of social control, which to violate usually brings a price to pay. It is your choice to follow it or not.
I mean you are totally in control of you.
God is not controlling you nor is the devil.

Prove god can do anything. That is not your definition of "all powerful". All powerful never seems to take into account simple logic.

1.
(of a deity) having unlimited power; able to do anything.
synonyms: all-powerful, almighty, supreme, preeminent, most high

Fine. Since god is proving not omnipotent but impotent today lets try some easier ones:
Can god continue to spread the good word with a complete lack of violence? Oops, human error screws that up. But since god can't do anything about that lets try again. Can god create a divinely inspired text that won't be used to incite violence that will claim the lives of millions? Shit, humans messing stuff up again. Can god communicate using anything other than two thousand year old fairy tales? No. Can god create a creature in his image that doesn't happen to be completely fubar? Apparently not.
Can god nut up and take accountability for his bullshit? Probably not. God can't do anything because god doesn't exist.
God is a complete failure to live up to his own definition.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

If someone says we have no free will then our actions are not our own.
So if someone says we have no free will i will question it.

Exactly!

Why does god has to have some preconditions when revealing himself/herself to us? Some so called born-again christurds received revelations while shitting in their toilet or halfway into their climax. Meanwhile, atheists die out without being visited once by your imaginary sky daddy. So why is this revelation done in a deceitful manner? Some have to dig deep to find god or others get regular visits without lifting their asses off their couch.

Oh wait...I knew this was coming! God revealed himself to you but you chose to ignore...

So is me having a dream almost everyday fucking Kim Kardashian a sign from god? Pretty weird, I think.

If you have a heart attack don't blame me, all I did was ask a question. Your juvenile reaction was quite over the top, you need to get a hold of your emotions before they kill you.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I do not recall where God describes Himself as omnipotent.
People have done that though.

There are lots of things God can't do.
Usually our description is given with the understanding of leaving out the things God can't do.
He cannot lie, nor change His nature, nor can He learn or be taught.
I am sure there are more.

God is a complete failure to live up to his own definition.

You are using a secular definition for omnipotence not a philosophical or theological one.

Anyways, the point I was making is that proposition such as the one you made are nonsensical and therefore cannot be used to tell us anything....including what it means to be omnipotent. They are a stupid waste of time.

So god is not all that great or special then...

Something that powerful could make you believe if he was real. If he hasn't then he's slacking.

What was juvenile? Did some naughty words upset you? I don't mean to toot my own trumpet, but the amount of holes in your 'look for god' comment is ridiculous and I think I highlighted them quite well. It's completely insulting that you come on here and spout this crap to people. That you ask such a question is far more insulting than anything I said in my post.

Classic though. Don't address any actual points, just moan about the fact I swore.
