Why so many "anti-feminists" in the atheist community?

I haven't flamed and I certainly haven't called out anyone.

The discussion I've engaged in is relevant to the thread.

Not responding to a "problem" just allows that problem to fester.

Take it from a quack.

I don't care about the thread... it has its points, and whatever about them, it's a thread.

But I don't believe that was a point in this thread, and even if it was: it should not have been a point in this thread. This shit should be under the bridge: this individual is clearly trying to conform currently (you'll notice they're trying to avoid being pulled out by the personal attacks that others (you, for one) are making towards them at this point?).

I care that you're baiting... that you're a mod... and that this isn't and wasn't remotely relevant in this thread.

Not all the new people of course, but, again, a loud minority...

Oh, certain new members on the forum are kinda totally up and completely shitty, but i'm not going to name names, I'm just going to imply it extremely heavily right here in their face, and no no no, that's not bullying or flaming, no no, it's just 'addressing' a 'problem' that is 'festering'. [/s]

This doesn't need to occur here. This stuff here isn't relevant until it is forced to be by provocation. Seriously. Give the guy a chance to learn from the mistake he's already been punished for.

And this? This isn't helping anything either. Jesus christ and the 12 great red-horned fuckers.

Maybe I should try it.

No.

No, that's beneath me.

So, I should just not respond to anyone if the subject is somewhat controversial and the person is trying to "mend" their ways?

Okay, I'll try it.

*correction

Wasn't punished, hasn't apologized, refuses to admit their mistake.

But you know, I agree to an extent, Violet. Not because he deserves it but because the rest of us deserve to have less threads with the drama.

Check a dictionary. Feminism is called feminism because it's pro-rights-for-females. That doesn't mean that it is anti-rights for anyone else.

And it is for anyone: For anyone who gives a fuck about the rights of women. Regardless of whether they themselves are women.

If feminists are interested in the rights of everyone (and their leaders have made it more than obvious they are not), then why in fuck don't they have "egalitarian" on their banner instead?

I call poo!

Because that would be redundant and it's each person's prerogative to use whichever flag they want. (I don't actually have a flag but if I did it would likely be pink and sparkly and say "All hail Princess SLUT")

Feminism is simply a response to the inequality women have faced historically. It doesn't mean anti-egalitarianism just because some feminists are also misandrists.

This thread is quite the circle jerk.   Dodgy

That's what I've heard feminists say. It's annoying because there's no tenets of feminism, I don't even know why everyone seems to have their own definition of it.

Feminism doesn't claim to be anything - it's an idea, a movement, an all-encompassing word for the equal rights for women.

Feminists, interpret the meaning to suit their agenda, whatever that may be.  The majority do want equal rights for the sexes, but since, in many ways, women are those who have been denied equal rights, the primary goal is to get those rights for women, after all, it's predominantly women leading the movement.

There are extremists in the group, who hate men.  Those are a minority and not representative of the movement as a whole.  They just happen to be the ones who get all the publicity.

You should read what you say, and then keep readng it until you recognize just how hysterically similar your arguments are to the Muslims who insist their reiligion is of peace, and only a fringe minority among them condone violence against anybody who disagrees with them. Fact is that every single Muslim accepts the Quran with less filtering than the typical Christian (60% hold a literalist view of their bible and believe the earth was created in 65 days), and no Muslims have stepped forth to condemn the stoning of adulterous women (this can only happen to women by Islamic law), and none of them condemn any of the violence which is being practiced by al Quaida, Taliban, or ISIS.

What you call yourself does in fact matter, and a lot more than you would think it does. Call yourself something which does in fact include everyone, and you would have my full support (so long as you live up to what it says of you, and I believe you would do that more easily based on that alone).
