Are feminists fanatics? What would you do with all inequality of woman in the world...just have no one stand up for the rights of women?

Some are, but I think the OP is trying to make a distinction between them and herself.

No you didn't get it at all. I said I support feminism causes like access to birth control, abortion, equal pay, etc... I support them because I'm an egalitarian. Because I'm an egalitarian, I suport LGBT rights, anti-racist, anti-nationalist, etc...

Feminism is a movement to restore women equality that are lost. If you support that, you are a feminist.

If you believe in equality, you are a feminist. The extremist don't do away with what the movement is really all about.

She is trying to say we shouldn't be against feminist just because of some extremist who have little influence and make those little few extremist as if they are a significant authority over the world or representatives of feminism.

I don't find myself drawn to causes in general. I like women and in my own family I see lots of women with weak self image that seems to come from buying into cultural norms. But then the men in my family aren't much better off and few are educated. But the way it plays out in my family, the men have at least the overt power.

Personally I couldn't choose as a mate a woman like those in my family. My wife is from a different world culturally and every bit my equal in lots of ways, and my superior in as many ways as I am hers. So I have at least a preference when it comes to the women I associate with, and I enjoy the company of women in general. But I avoid the mincing, self-effacing sort as she does as well.

But I'm not a joiner of causes and don't need them to find meaning in life. For me it is simply a preference.

Hey, welcome to the forums Keta. Hope you find what you're looking for and that we get to hear more of what's on your mind.

I think you'll find this community more than willing to have their ear bent. I thought the same thing when I started: as the new guy I'll get lost in the ocean of established members and popular ideas. But I was surprised at how welcoming and accommodating this place is to one and all.

As for me, I wouldn't call myself anti-feminism, as I agree with most of the points and I would like to see change for my daughter's future. Tumblr ruined a lot of that for me, however. When sensitivity reaches a certain point all conversation gets shut down. I walk on eggshells as it is because I don't want to needlessly offend anyone. I find that the topic of feminism has become too sensitive to get anything done. Maybe rightfully so? I think a less angry approach would open things up and allow the movement to go in the right direction. And I know there are those people; they need to become the more prominent mouthpiece.

As for the youtubers, I don't know for sure, but from what I've picked up on, something over at Atheism+ must have left a bad taste in their mouths. I know this is the case for The Armoured Skeptic and Thunderf00t. I agree with you, the extreme feminists wouldn't have as loud a voice without the atheist youtubers mentioned.

If they feel the need to comment on feminism, I wish they would at least provide an alternative way of navigating the issues. Not just bashing the extremists.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Just like Islam...or jesusism...the extremists make that difficult.

First off, feminism has two definitions that are often used interchangebly. Plus, feminism does not define my stance as well as egalitarism does. Hense, I call myself an egalitarism. Why are so focused on what I call myself?

I had a go of communicating on that forum and left in a hurry. Those people may claim to have an interest in feminism but they have no more right to speak for everyone than I do. They are the politically correct police and I have no interest in interacting with any of them.
