When shit hits the fan, praise god that it wasn't as much as it could have been. You'd expect someone purportedly omniscient and omnipresent to be able to do more than it does. The idea of free will doesn't really cover the things that happen beyond our choice or control. If he had told this family that the plane was going to crash, and they chose to go anyway, then it would be their fault because free will. The idea that he decided to save this one kid, instead of helping the pilot land in a way that no one died, is not worthy of praise.
I mean if he was going to help just one person, why wasn't it the pilot he helped?

I agree with all you guys and gals.
We damn sure know God's not busy helping out little boys. By allowing Snicker Bars and Catholic Priests to coexist, that becomes abundantly clear in a hurry.
And too...
How can these people demand their elected officials lead an error free life and office.
Yet Thornhead who's allegedly omnipotent and omniscient can't close one holy eye and fart...
How is it this bumbling, incompetent bloodthirsty prick keeps getting reelected (if you will)
Landfish for God!!! The damn NRA will probably destroy my political aspirations. I think a tiny minded asshole of God works perfectly for very affluent Americans aka the GOP.
If they trash my campaign don't forget to right me in. And since I'm running a platform on humanism and real love and tolerance....
I've got a wild ass idea...that as soon as I'm voted in as God and assume the Galactic Throne.
I hereby promise.... My first task as God is to delete the devil...that said I intend to stop suffering and death. You can all have anything you desire. I'll also create immutable laws where everyone is ecstatic and harm never comes to anyone.....
I'm telling you. You'll love me as God

But, don't you see?! It's a test! God killed her family in a most horrible and gruesome way to see how she'd respond to the trauma. And if she fails the test? It's eternal hell for her!
Praise the all-loving God!

Something good happens? He was saved by the grace of God! God opens doors and answers prayers!
Something shitty happens? The Lord works in mysterious ways. It was his will.
I see and hear this kind of stuff almost daily. A grown-ass person who believes this is breathtakingly stupid.

Might be fun to ask folks claiming miraculous survival if maybe it wasn't of SATAN in furtherance of his EVIL plans.
That's how Pat Robertson might view a sole survivor of a boat load of Hindus going to the bottom of the sea, if you think about it.
