Divine Intervention...

RE: Divine Intervention...
Some people will stress that yes, he could have called down angels at any point. He didn't because "let not my will, but your will be done". Of course Yahweh didn't sae his son. He had a son just so he could get brutally murdered, because Yahweh needs to see blood to calm himself down. He's a hemophiliac.

Or god/jesus could have kicked ass and take names but jesus wasn't he was a big softy. Then he gets serious next time i come back ill be kicking ass.. seriously...even though in the bible jesus and god are practically the same being his sacrifice was in vein. He would have had a better chance at his followers sacrificing them selves.

It is rather messed up. The nearest I can figure, if there was a guy that jesus is based on, his followers decided to spin his death into a good thing after he got killed. It's also possible it's just made up, because virgin births and resurrections from death were all the rage in myths back then. The greeks loved making stories about heroes being half god. in fact, that may hae been a requirement to be a hero.

They talk about it being a sacrifice because of the burden of sin. What kind of burden does sin have? It's not physical. I can't be mental, because he's supposedly still ruling the cosmos and communicating with people. So what is it?

It's nonsense, the biggest load of crap so many people in the world have been prepared to gobble up like mashed potato.

My personal opinion based on nothing is that jesus is most likely loosely based on several self-proclaimed prophets of the time, taking aspects and stories of each and mixing them up. Then comes the huge exaggeration, insertion of previous mythologies, then eventually entire fabrication on top of that to make him appear to meet prophecies. Plus he gets ret conned later to have been born from a virgin. Whoops yeah, how did they forget that detail?

In reality, it would have been more like this:

I still don't get most religions' obsession with virgins. Not male, but specifically female ones.

1. Mary was either a whore or a rape victim. Not a good start for the supposed son of god.
2. The 72 virgins islam claims you get: if you're already dead who gives a shit about stds? It may have been said before but virgins suck.

Why is the virgin birth and its so called divine cause so important?

RE: Divine Intervention...
Virgins in heaven does seem odd. If there are STDs, it isn't heaven, and if I hae to raise a child there, it's not going to be heaven, so why would I want this woman to be a virgin? After living a supposed life of celibacy, where even if I had sex it would be just enough to have one or two kids, I want a woman who will teach me everything there is to know about sexual relations.

The virgins reward is one of the most ludicrous things in all of religion, and that's saying something. How anyone can take that seriously is beyond me. Where are they coming from? Allah just has a factory pumping out 72 per dead guy? Or he poofs them out of thin air as a freebie? Come on. It probably started out as 1 Virgin and went upwards from there.

RE: Divine Intervention...
Adam Smith capitalism analogy, god had to keep upping the reward till he could get enough takers.

72 virgins turned out to be the free market number.

Curious Joe Smith or L. Ron Hubbard didn't up the ante . . . .

I have a short announcement. I am actually a god. I know, I know; it seems so obvious now in hindsight. Anyway, each convert shall receive 93 battle-tested escorts in my heaven. Listen, guys. I've seen Allah's bunch, and they are virgins for a reason.
