To be honest, I struggle to think of these people as "evil" so much as I think of them as downright weird. Why this obsession with race? It's so petty.

I do think every person, and not just white people, will occasionally have some racial prejudices. They're not right and it's not a justification, but in the racialized society we live in it's hard not to do it and I think anyone who says "I do not judge based on race" is lying. We can, and should, try not to however.

But these people... it's an obsession with race. I find it downright weird for anyone to be that interested in race, that they can claim they can spot a non-white person just by examining their features. I knew a Jewish boy once who had blond hair and blue eyes, go figure.

I'm white as they come (pale skin, blue-grey eyes, dark brown hair), but I do have some distant North African ancestry (no more than one great-grandparent's worth). It's just weird to me, the thought that having a small amount of "non-white" ancestry could completely change someone's opinion of me like that. It's petty.

Also adding my name to the list of people who see absolutely no point in "white pride". We have no need for it. We can have "white pride" when most police men are black and gun down innocent white teens for no reason. Ya not happening anytime soon, if ever.

A lot of people find the world to be a cold, hard, scary place. Different people deal with that in different ways. One way people deal with it is to band together around something that they have in common. Sometimes it's churches. Some of the tightest knit church communities you will find are in the worst parts of town. The members certainly do get a lot of being part of that congregation, albeit to my way of thinking most of what they get could be had outside of a religious context.

Others will go in for community activism and they'll get those same kinds of needs met in a secular way. That was what worked for me in those days. You got a sense of community and you could feel like you were doing something positive while you were at it.

A lot of young people end up taking a less positive route, often without realizing the inherent negativity that goes along with their choice. By this I mean gangs of one sort of another. To a large degree these kids are seeking protection, a precious commodity on a lot of urban streets. Some are very informal, some are organized to some degree or another, and almost all tend to be racially homogeneous. I don't think this is conscious racism, it is just a case of like groups with like. But then occasionally you do get the racist skinhead gangs where this is what they are about. It is conscious and deliberate. They feel that this is defensive. That this is necessary. They feel like they are being occupied and must fight back. They don't accept that demographics change. All they know is that their neighborhood is not the same as it once was and that they do not like it. They want to lash out at who they believe to be responsible.

I don't believe you are born hating that way. Those guys were learning it somewhere, somehow. If not from their parents, then from someone they respected enough to listen to. That is not hard to do in America. Look at the reaction to Obama getting elected. People all over the country flipped out, there were all these cries of "What has happened to my country" from all over the nation. Yes, these WN types are extreme, I'll agree that they are both obsessed and weird. But it is the degree of hatred that is weird. Hatred to a lesser degree is all too common. That people should get this hung up over a thing such as this is no surprise. They want someone to blame for the economy, for their neighborhood changing, for all the uncertainty in their lives, and some just go over the top. Someone else may have become a religious nut instead. Sad, but all too human.

1. I used to. But as my views got stronger, I realised that nothing good can come of having non-White friends. I am a much happier person now that I've cut non-Whites out of my life. I am pro-White and it'd be hypocritical to befriend non-Whites. I don't like hypocrisy.

So yes, if you and your descendents keep mating with white people they will look white, but they won't be white.
