Atheism VS Christian Atheism?

Pretty much the only things that are unique to Christianity is its series of god-claims, which "christian atheists" would apparently not accept.

I guess a Christian Atheist would be interested specifically in what Jesus said, independent of the fact that some things appear elsewhere, purely because they're a fanatic of Jesus? I mean, that's the only reason I could think of. On the topic of pizza again (lol), it's like your favourite pizza shop. They're all selling the same thing, but for no apparent reason other than personal taste, you prefer Dominos over Pizza Hut.

Yeah, but, in all likelihood he didn't say those things. Even if he existed at all. So it's not even giving credit to the correct source.

But what do I care Smile I just like beating up on jesus all day. *Wham* left hook *Wham* uppercut! You got owned again jesus. Get up.

I'd be very interested to see a Christian Atheist try to defend themselves against these kinds of questions, because treating Jesus as a singularly perfect moral preacher and being a 'fanatic' of him seems to be all but the same as worshipping him.

So many terms. So much splitting of hairs.
I would concede that is it possible the jesus idea could be based on a historical human. But to say "Christian Atheist" to me is a contradiction of terms. I'd say believing in jesus as a man but not in any god makes you simply an Atheist. But it has already been discussed that people are free to call themselves whatever.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Well sure, I don't see how that would be inconsistent with Christian Atheism. You could just be a fanatic of the early Christians that *did* exist.

I think the term "Christian" in there is necessary, because it's indicating that, for whatever reason, the person is placing *Christian thought* slightly higher than other ways of thinking.
