An Example of American Hysteria

RE: An Example of American Hysteria
Ah I see. That's funny and sad at the same time.

Tis. Imagine living it. Hearing all the news reports about bombs, wondering "Are we under attack?", going home and having your mom be disgusted that it could be an advertising stunt, her screaming in disgust when it's declared it is and going to the TV to see it's none other than Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I LOLed hard, my mom didn't get it. Of course, it also showed the great divide between young adults and older people, because they JUST DIDN'T GET IT.

Also a friend of mine new the guys that placed the litebrites around the city, their lawyers told them not to talk to the media, so when the media approached them they talked about hair. Everyone was like, "Oh they're being idiots and irreverent". Older folks just don't get humor today.

If someone can explain to me how 'Take Your Kid to Work Day' was a legitimate security risk here, or could be, you win 10 blowjobs. The kid was repeating into a microphone what his father would otherwise be saying. It's not like they stuck this kid in the hotseat and went for coffee.

Seriously, when a father sharing with his son what he does at work is a national outrage, the terrorists have won.

I think the point was it wasn't a 'Take Your Kid to Work Day', and that he was breaking a law by even having them there.

I wasn't aware of that. Regardless, if the employee sought approval and his supervisor granted it, there isn't any difference.

In general, people need to learn how to lighten the fuck up.

Oh why should they lighten up when they can simply wrap them themselves up in their hysteria and act like the world is coming to a fucking end everytime something happens.

Most people spend an awful lot of their time being sanctimonious twits.

There is a difference if the employee and the supervisor were breaking the law...which they apparently were...

Adrian, as in this write up from the Wall Street Journal,

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424...64770.html

I have yet to see where anyone has cited a "law" which was broken.

Quote:"This lapse in judgment not only violated FAA's own policies, but common sense standards for professional conduct," FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt said in a statement Wednesday.

Agency "policies" are not "laws." "Common sense" is even harder to legislate.
