Yeah, "possible scenarios" for which you have no evidence. How about this? After the planes crashed into the towers, invisible trolls supported the buildings which allowed many people to escape. Otherwise, the buildings would have collapsed immediately! The trolls held up the building as long as they could, until the flames became too much for them. At that point they had to let go and save themselves. But, if not for the trolls, many thousands more would have died that day! Praise be to the trolls!
And this scenario is just as likely as yours. Plus, I have just as much evidence as you do!
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Entropist brought it up to demonstrate that prayer doesn't work, and therefore God doesn't exist. I was just countering his claim by providing possible scenarios that could've occurred during that tragedy which do not contradict or deny the existence or God and the power of prayer.
I can't be sure of what happened on 9/11 since I wasn't there and I'm not God. But to say that 9/11 shows there's no God is jumping the gun.
That's nice, but whether it's 9/11 or praying for your team to win the superbowl, my point still stands. My point being that I can't help but notice that your examples (read: any example) of prayer is indestinguishable from random coincidence.
As does my follow-up question:
How can you profess a power of prayer that doesn't do anything that wouldn't happen anyway?
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

What it does show however is that there certainly is not a caring god who intervenes on behalf of mankind for the good. Therefore it can be assumed that when good things happen they do so under completely natural circumstances without the need for any divine intervention, however 'miraculous' they may seem at the time.
So, although it does not show the absence of a god it certainly gives weight to the premise that the universe acts and behaves as it would if there were no god.

Honestly there isn't any. The only arguments i've heard so far is that "it's too complicated to happen by chance" and there has to be a creator for every creation. but honestly the first one is just laziness and the second one all i have to say is why?

So it has come to this!
Angelthman, my old Archenemy, has sent another another Chesspiece on the table while he, the Master of Evangelization, watches from afar.
Without question his brillant masterplan is for you to wear me out, so that he can later better bypass me and rule this forum.
Now, I partly read your blog. Are you going to discuss what you write also ?

nope not closed, but I'm not going to tolerate and shit Regens Küchl , despite the hit and run trollish nature of the post it's relevant (minus the advertisement) and open for discussion, add to that discussion or STFU.

I dont unnerstand you here;
You deleted the "Troll" himself, deleted his post and deleted the link to his blog.
Than you say his post is relevant and we may add to that discussion.
Howso when it is no longer here to read ?
I saved his link and can post it here again if you wish it so, than we can discuss the arguments on his blog.
I know that double posts are no good. The other thread now is really worthless and could by all means get deleted.

No please do not repost something that has been administrativly deleted. Some of the other moderators felt I was being too soft as usual and removed him in his entirety. That's the concensus and I support that. If you wish do discuss points relevant to this topic, do it without referece to a troll, and try to do it with some semblance of credulity please. Press on.
