I recall not being allowed to play at the home of 2 of my cousins (they could come to my house). It was years before I figured out the reason was because my aunt was on husband #2. I guess they were allowed here so my mom could be a good influence on them, LOL.
Mom was on a committee at church that sent letters to parents of kids baptized there that weren't going to Sunday school reminding them that they promised during the baptism ceremony that they would be responsible for their kids religious education.
And yes, that meant that I had to be on death's door step to get out of going to Sunday school.
You should have asked awkward questions.
My mum was asked not to bring me back.

God clearly defined marriage as the joining of one man and one woman who he just raped outside of the church. Who are we to think ourselves gods and to offend christians by changing the definition of this entirely religious process? Got made Adam and Lilith, not Adam and Steve. We all came from one man and one helper. Gays are not natural. They go against evolution. God designed them to be offensive to him. If we allow them to marry, there won't be any more kids being born. That's probably what they want, to kill us all. And the second you allow gay marriage, toasters will be marrying the theory of relativity. I believe in the omnipotent power of mighty God, and only his will can, and shall, be done.
So please make sure the law continues to reflect that.
