The above two links makes an accurate compareson of christianity and a couple of the more popular myths that christianity was supposed to come from

I agree with you here, Drich. Zeitgeist movie is a load of bullshit.

Mythra is the other big one, in that the religion is said to be much older, but it's oldest ' holy book' can only be dated back to the 13th century AD.

Meaning the religion maybe older than dirt but the text that claims similar orgins to christianity was written 1300 years after Christianity...

That's because your fellow cultists are lousy preservers of anything that can't be misconstrued and sold to the sheep.

Fortunately, there are other ways besides writings that we can learn about ancient Mythraism:

"Numerous archeological finds, including meeting places, monuments, and artifacts, have contributed to modern knowledge about Mithraism throughout the Roman Empire.[8] The iconic scenes of Mithras show him being born from a rock, slaughtering a bull, and sharing a banquet with the god Sol (the Sun). About 420 sites have yielded materials related to the cult. Among the items found are about 1000 inscriptions, 700 examples of the bull-killing scene (tauroctony), and about 400 other monuments.[9] It has been estimated that there would have been at least 680–690 mithraea in Rome."

There would also be an incentive to not preserve stuff which obviously makes it look like you're copied it.

Apparently there were some Jewish sects whose theology and traditions foreshadowed Christianity. It seems that the Essenes, Jewish Gnosticism, Hellenism, Christian monasticism, etc. are all closely related.

There is an author who wrote a book suggesting that ideas such as the trinity were developed before the time of Jesus.

Mithraism was a "mystery cult," you dumb fuck. It did not have 'holy books.'

Asshole.

So it won't be difficult for you to accept that the apostles James and John were nothing more than a popular Greek literary motif and myth based on texts written six decades before the Gospel of Mark; Castor and Pollux. The author of Mark even has Jesus nicknaming James and John the 'Sons of Thunder'; a blatant reference to Zeus.

Hilarious

So.. from seemingly random sculptures and mosaics ,That could be depicting any number of things (Because their isnt any thing written till the 13th century AD that ties those ancient art works together)

You're saying that those Much older artistic dipictions coroborate, The 13th century mythra text somehow.

And because the Art work is older, and the 13th century text mentions the scenes found in art work... that somehow it verifies the 13th century literary work is 100% factually repersents the religion dedicated to mythra when the art work was made?!?!?!
Hilarious

IDK, what if someone in the 13th century simply wanted to tie several different religions together and included the art work under the name of Mythra?

That's what Mohammad did around about that time for Islam...

That Christianity may be older is no argument in its favor in comparison to other religions, especially since they are all mythologies. Besides, animism, goddess worship, and the Greek pantheon are older than Christianity.
