Wow.
I suddenly have an almost irresistible urge to invest in the next 100 story skyscraper proposal in Israel.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Sometimes I still wonder how I ever bought into christianity.
Was I that stupid when I young?

I think being brought up in it, the accumulation of details is gradual enough you don't notice the 'zingers' that are included.
Once you're in the atheist orbit, and see all the other stuff they've found, it can be overwhelming in it's impact.
For instance, I was brought up Methodist and the poison/deadly serpent crap was at the bottom of the page and asterisked (lest us kiddlings try it I suppose) I was DELIGHTED to learn other bibles don't have any qualms with that way of knowing the christians by those signs, and I am a vigorous supporter of them demonstrating it. There is all kinds of stuff in the bible I find specious, ludicrous and bizarre I didn't know about before I was coming around to the idea it was a bunch of hooey. It would be tough going back because I am aware of so much more stuff now that would have had me questioning had I known earlier.

Menstruation, Turtles and Pigeons

Being a lifelong heathen with no religous pressures I find it so interesting that I love to just dip into parts of the OT and see what wonders are there.
I can sort of understand how mythical nonsense can be fed into a young mind but I don't have the experience/indoctrination to really know what that means. Each time I read scripture I try hard to imagine what it would be like to believe but always fall short. In fact I don't think I ever really get close because it's so distant from reality.
I suppose that's why I continue to respond to Drich & GC's mutterings. I just can't get enough of a state of mind that, to me, is unreachable. Where are those two anyhow, I will just love to hear how they blow away the turtle/pigeon/period story.

I hope that Drich or GC responds to this thread.
