I don't really like forums that employ that method.

Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
I agree. It would be extremely disruptive to the flow of discussion and general conversation, and it's not like the OP is that hard to find.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

The OP is always a click away if you need it. Many topics here tend to go out of topic when the OP (in the case of a theist) cannot or chooses not to defend his/her own topic, and for someone reading the thread for the very first time, it might seem that the question is still hanging. On the other hand, most OP's are answered immediately by the 2nd poster (again in the case of a theist OP) so the rest of the thread is left open for our pleasure and amusement. Again, this was just a suggestion and a personal preference of mine. Forum is just perfect as it is anyway.
Feasible, certainly.
But personally I wouldn't want it.
What a terrible idea! Just think, the nerve of some noob who suggests a way of keeping a thread topical.
Hey noob, Rather than someone starting a new thread each time something different is being discussed we at AF like to just pile a couple of dozen different subjects all under one thread. (All at the same time if possible) That way it looks like one big "shout out box."
What the fuck are you on about now?
