Why aren't you a moderate, or secular Muslim, then? Historicity of Muhammad is about as "certain" as that of Jesus and Muslims see their religion as continuation of judeo-christian tradition.
Is it because Islam is only "good enough" for... uhm... "brown" people?

What about Mormonism then? We know Joseph Smith existed. We know thousands of people followed him and now his religion has millions of members. Give it a thousand years - who knows, Mormonisms may be the only denomination of Christianity left and its apologists will have found all sorts of "facts", confirming, that his golden tablets were real and he really did read them out of a hat. They may also erase, or undermine any records we currently have, that J. Smith was a convicted fraudster.

Don't get me wrong - you're free to believe what you want and I don't mean to criticize, but it's interesting to me, that you rationalize your belief in some holy books, but - seemingly arbitrarily - not others.

I find it odd that you can see through almost all the nonsense in the bible, but make a special case for jesus and his supernatural antics. To us, it's just more nonsense.

How exactly do you decide what the 'sane' stuff is? Because I'd wager every non-literalist Christian would say "I don't believe the insane stuff", and yet would have vastly differing views.

The only thing that can't be scientifically or archaeologically vouched for that I believe is Jesus' resurrection. A lot of the Bible is early civilized man attempting to explain things way out of their league

Exactly what sources lead you to believe that the text is historically accurate? The text and archaeology directly contradict to at least 450 BCE ("Return from Babylon" in the text).

As for the events in the NT; You mention the resurrection, can you tell us how many people witnessed this, where they were and when?

One claim attached to the crucifixion is a solar eclipse, as the orbit of the Moon is a known quantity could you tell us exactly which eclipse the crucifixion coincided with?

Let's analyze this. Out of the testable claims, 3 out of 4 are correct. That's pretty good. It includes a place name which are correct at time of writing (just now) and is historically accurate about an event. Therefor, it is fair to assume that the untestable claim is also true. We can't know if it's true or not, but since we have a 75% success rate so far, it's 75% probably true? Why would robvalue lie about this when he's been pretty accurate so far?
