GC Come on GC, tell us why there were no pre-flood rainbows then because you disagree not only with my guess but also AiG.
Why want you tell us?

So there was no refraction before the world-wide flood that didn't happen? This is a new low in idiocy, GC -- even for you.

It looks very much to me like the word "rainbow" is a later interpretation. Here:
http://biblehub.com/genesis/9-13.htm
It just says bow in the older passages, not rainbow. I know why it says bow, and it's nothing to do with rainbows. That's a lame later cover story, unless I'm very much mistaken here.
Sad to see such patchwork has wormed its way into the canon. What am I saying? Argh I dunno.

The bible tells us many things. Many of which are contradictory and/or disproved.

What can you say to someone who believes dinos and man lived together, the dinos were wiped out by a giant flood, and there were no rainbows before this flood?
I mean, really, where can you go except ridicule.

Peter Gabriel's Genesis, or Phil Collins's Genesis? 'Cause I'm not listening to any of their later stuff...

Until this thread, I had never really thought about the fact that rainbows would have had to have formed before the flood. I guess I was distracted by the fact that Christians believe genocide is considered a cute story for kids.

I'm still trying to understand how GC knows it wasn't Anu, Enlil, Ninurta, Ennugi, and Ea who caused the flood?

Sega Genesis. That or Genesis Of The Daleks.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
