Who is the King of the U.S.A.?

Who is the King of the U.S.A.?
Who is the King of the U.S.A.?

Oh say can you see, --- that you are an oligarchy?

I assume here that most Americans are bright enough to know that they live in an oligarchy and not a democracy.

Do you believe that redistribution of wealth from the top to the bottom of the U.S. socio economic demographic pyramid is a good idea or a bad idea?

Do you think the American oligarchy can be turned back into a real democracy where the poor are considered instead of ignored, if not abused?

Poverty is the worst form of Violence. Mahatma Gandhi

Do you think that we can persuade our owners to stop their violence against the poor?

Which of our oligarchs would you say is the King of the U.S.A.

Should the U.S. government find its balls and ask its King to stop abusing the poor?

Before entering this discussion I have some skepticism of the top 1% claim simply because it's composed by flexible variables - People who are in the top 1% in 2015 may not be in 2016, and so on, it depends, to an extent, on luck. How do we determine who's the top 1%?

Not to be short but -----

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. Eleanor Roosevelt

Do you really care who owns you or is you being owned the more important issue?

Appeal to authority + If the 1% isn't a determinable concept I can't discuss it properly because I don't know who's oppressing the poor

That's not an American problem. Conservatives around the world love to present the poor as moochers, so that even the biggest loser has someone to look down to and refrains from looking up.

Yes, we're an oligarchy now. It's quite the shame, what the rich have done to our nation. The religious fundies aren't the only domestic enemies in our nation.

I doubt that claim is true because a significant amount of politicians from both wings are responsible for poverty and other problems in first world nations. Unemployment rose in Portugal with a left wing party, and so did debt. It depends entirely on the conservative - I don't think conservatives in America represent the rest of the world accurately. You can find nations with left wing social democratic governments increasing poverty and social inequalities. It depends on the politician more than the ideology.

Show me one left wing social democratic government. There is none that dares to have leftist ideas.

Apart from Greece maybe, but they're in league with rightwing populists also.

To hear the right talk about it, left wing and socialist is synonymous.
