I'm still not sure why people are trying to use holy books, which were meant to deal with matters of faith, God and the afterlife, to explain worldly things.
You may think that it serves as a testimony to your faith, but in my opinion, it only serves to show the lack thereof.

you're right in the fact that the bible is not a scientific book. it doesn't really say anything about science but everything it's said about the physical world has been accurate. that's my point.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Well, I can't know that, but it could be the case that the israelites already knew that the world was round or something. It certainly matters little.

Quote:in a debate, it's common for those who don't have an arguement to attack the person rather than the claims. this is often done in politics and the media and is very effective.
You could probably TRY to stop being a fuckwit but really from the general level of what you write I doubt that you have it in you.

why can't you know that? is it not written down for us to read? all you have to do is read its entirety.

The israelites knew nothing because they never existed until recently ...the Babylonians and Persians where the ones experimenting with the idea as I understand it

that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. of course they existed. they existed for a very long time and up to the time of Rome and until Rome took it over. then they didn't have their own land until recently. any historian will tell you this.

No dear the Judeans and Palestinians did. Israel did not exist until 1948 as far as I understand history.
