The Reasons why "Just Following Jesus" Doesn't work
RE: The Reasons why "Just Following Jesus" Doesn't work

Cherubs aside, do you really believe this crap? Have you even researched the origins of the bibles historical accuracy? It's a load of hogwash, my dear.

No Luckie, I don't believe what you said because it isn't what the Bible said.  Is says John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

God loves you and He loves people and He was willing to put aside is rights to bring you into life and for you to experience the joy of His fellowship. It is a beautiful thing He as done for you. This gift is given freely even though it cost a great deal. I am going to pray that God will grant you repentance so that you can escape from the lies that are holding you captive. I trust my God will do what is good.

I point my learned friend to my avatar.

Have a peachy weekend now.

You can feel that but it isn't true. It doesn't even matter Big Grin . What is true and what really matters is that Christ died for your sins and rose so that you can have a new life. I will be praying for you.

Just because you see me doing what you have done doesn't mean that we have believed the same. Actually there are things that I believe you don't. Like when I say that christianity isn't based on feelings. (People keep talking about believing the bible literally. I am not quite sure what you mean by that.) Those make our beliefes different. You may feel like I am a jerk but the truth is I am here to tell you about a God that loves you and He wants to save you from Hell. How you feel about me doesn't affect the truth.

I feel like you're a jerk because you're talking and acting like a jerk. You're telling me that I never was a Christian simply because I am not one now. You're taking how I feel about it now and saying that I could not have felt it, then.

Think about it: if I talk to a divorced person about their husband, would they say he is "the love of their life, the dreamiest man they have ever known, what a fantastic human being?" No, because what they once felt (deeply in love) is no longer how they feel, once they opened their eyes and saw the truth about him. Turned out, the divorcee's spouse was a liar and a cheat, and once the truth became clear, the emotions changed.

What you're saying here is, basically, that because you are so in love with your man, that I must never have been in love because I got divorced. But I was in love before I realized the truth and before I got divorced.

So then if you still tell me I was never in love, then you're a jerk.

What I am saying is that Christianity isn't based on feeling and if you became a Christian because it felt good then you weren't a Christian. Christianity and Marriage are started with a covenant or an agreement. When I married my husband I agreed to be with him till death do us part. You know even if he cheats on me that doesn't necessarily mean I will divorce him. I have known a woman and of a man (via his wife) who have been in marriage relationship when their spouse had been unfaithful and they decided (not felt) to stay in the relationship. They made a promise and so they kept it.

I entered into an agreement with God. He said if you repent and accept my death and resurrection on the cross for you sins then I will give you eternal life with me, and save you to the utter most.  I get your life and I will give you mine. I said yes. I may be unfaithful but God will uphold His side. He will keep His promises. He will draw me back because I am His. So if you entered into that agreement with God then you could wander but you would never leave because God would keep His side of the commitment.

I also don't think love is a feeling I think it is an action it is a commitment to do good to someone no matter how you feel about it or how they make you feel. Love is not based on the object of your love but on the one doing the loving. That is why God's love is perfect because what He set out to do He will do even if it is inconvenient to Him.

Were you in love with God? I can't love God perfectly but my Christianity isn't based on my love for God but His love for me. His love for me is Godly and I am grateful for that. I hope your eyes will be opened to the Love of God and that you experience true Christianity. Not one that is based on fleeting feelings.

Because earlier you said:

and that this "God"

So you knew it was this "God" speaking to you even before you read the book. Which is very odd, because you went on to cite the book as "the revealed word of God"; and after I asked why you switched subjects, from your dreams and impressions to a book of mythology, you started telling me that

(September 16, 2015 at 5:27 pm)Rekeisha Wrote: God's words are not contradictory and His purposes are the same no matter what way He communicates. He has developed the Bible as an easy source to find His words and I have that avalible to me. So I am accountable for knowing what He days through His word.

So I ask again: before you read the book, how did you know that it was the god of that book speaking to you?

Oh  becasue the things he told me were in the bible

You haven't even shown that there's a god there in the first place, so all this talk of being in love with it is plain absurd.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Can't "he" tell you anything that isn't in the bible?

I don't know how to even communicate with this one.

Mind = Gone.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

The Reasons why "Just Following Jesus" Doesn't work ,

With 40,000 schisms, kinda tricky to follow the Jesus dude with out a little heads up from Him regarding which one of the 40,000 has it right.

I think we've also eliminated the A/S/K method, as it doesn't pare down the choices sufficiently, and also, I've noticed, A/S/K never leads anyone to anything except scripture cherry picking. If A/S/K could at least on one occasion yield a religionite with Literalist stripes it wouldn't have a 100% failure rate.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The Bible says that God loves the Jews.  It doesn't say that he loves the Gentiles.
