Indiana's Govenor Signs 'Religious Freedom' Bill
March 26, 2015 at 4:48 pm
Quote:Indiana business owners who object to same-sex couples will now have a legal right to deny them services after Republican Gov. Mike Pence signed a bill known as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law.
The legislation, approved by Indiana's GOP-controlled House and Senate, prevents state and local governments from "substantially burdening" a person's exercise of religion unless a compelling governmental interest can be proved.

How is ensuring equal treatment not a "compelling governemnt interest?"
The real question, though, is where does this stop? When do you determine an act is too immoral to be allowed in the name of religious freedom? Can an ER doctor refuse to operate on someone based on religious beliefs?
At least this will let us know who the real assholes are.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

So because of these assholes' superstition, people can't get married.
Republicans can't marry now, because it offends my irrational belief in the republican-hating sky unicorn. Too bad.

The Virginia Religious Freedom Act penned by Thomas Jefferson, although prior to the Constitution being signed, was a a bill that actually protected religion. It was also what Madison modeled the First Amendment from.
These guys are simply trying to cling to the past and fear change. One lawsuit and this should get thrown out, probably won't make it past an appeals court.

'Religious Freedom Restoration Act' . . . because 'The Pandering to Bigots and Religious Fuckwits Act' wasn't as popular in GOP focus groups.

Don't you just love the eternal fountain of shit that is the religious right? When will the people smarten up and stop voting for these human turds?
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
