If people have the "right to discriminate" then in fact no one has any rights of fair treatment.

That's why discrimination should not be a right in any civilised country, it should be something to be actively fought against.

A society that allows bigotry in the public realm is inherently more unstable, and this is borne out by history, including our own.

Asserting as you have that it is about "preventing butthurt", or that equal treatment laws are attempts to impose social views, is not only inaccurate, but also evidence of a shallow thought-process.
