My question is...what would theists think of the God who not only let this happen, but specifically planned it as part of his grand scheme for humanity? How would that effect your love for God and your trust in him? I am extremely curious to know.
As a theist, I'd say: "I'm in heaven! Yipppeeee!!! My child?... What child? Heaven, baby - yeah!!!" Then I'd go and snort some more coke off of virgin Mary's tits...
Besides - in heaven god can make perfect replicas of anybody's damned relatives, so the more sentimental among the saved ones never need to know...

Yup. When you're religious - even parental love is conditional. No surprises, since you follow a guy, ready to slaughter his child, simply because a voice in his head told him to.

They will never escape, and God will never change his mind, so their suffering will be as eternal as your own afterlife.
Then I would never stop punching God in his testicles, for all eternity.
Ha! Just kidding. I'd have already been in hell for 30 years.

Godchild answered that one in a similar discussion some time ago. According to him there's some divine lobotomy or brain amputation in stock for those who go to heaven. They will only have happy feelings and therefore not even remember their child. At least that's what I got from his reply back then.
Wat.
I cannot fathom the mind of any human who would be ok with that. That is horrifying to me in ways I can't articulate with mere words....

Welcome to the mindset of a junkie. As long as they get their "fix" - nothing else matters.

Indeed. Someone here has their Religious Views as; A drug like any other. It's a disturbingly close comparison.

The word there for revelations is "Ayat". As other verses show it means who disbelieve in proofs/signs of God when it becomes manifest to them. This is easily proven that a person unaware of the Quran as majority of humans were of that time, did not believe in it. But disbelieving means when the signs of God come to them.
This is like saying a person who didn't see the staff of Moses turn to a snake is the same a person disbelieving in the miracle in front of his eyes.
A verse states 'That who may perish may perish on a clear proof'

There is always a way out of reason and logic for the theist once they buy a naked assertion from the start. Anything goes.

Well, yes. Except - drugs are fun...

A verse states 'That who may perish may perish on a clear proof' Funnily enough, I have never seen a staff turn into a snake, or any 'miracle' of similar magnitude. If your god is truly as clever as you say he is, perhaps he should get off his divine arse, roll up his sleeves and get to mass conversion. Making all of the goats in the world start tap-dancing in perfect unison would be a start, for example. I'm sure His Godliness already thought of that one though being omniscient. I'm only a lowly mortal, what do I know?
