Any wise man..that advises adults to act as though they were children.....doesn't seem so wise to me Prof. "Jesus" said a lot of strange shit, but he's a character in a work of fiction. What's your excuse?

Rythm, there are attributes of children which are universally admirable.
Jesus said you must become as trusting as a child to be able to enter His kingdom.
Little children have not learned to be guileful. They are humble.
To be "Childlike" carries a different connotation than "Childishness".
The former is admired in adults while the latter is scorned.
I was thinking about this thread and my buddy at work came to my mind.
We were considering one of the wise asses there,who we deal with, and Scotty said,
"I think I may be smarter than I actually am, and sometimes find out that I might be.
It is better than thinking one is smart and finding out later that you aren't"

I'm going to steal the "be like a child" thing and use it for science!
A child has very few assumptions so is less likely to miss something due to faulty preconceptions.
Unfortunately, the child doesn't know that much and gets easily distracted by...

The Adam & Eve story is complex. Peopletend to focus on the simple things instead of trying to understand the whole story. For one thing the Bible says that the Garden of Eden was down the road from Assyria, Ethiopia, Persia, Arabia. The Bible also says that the king of Tyre lived in the Garden of Eden and that he called himself God. So the whole story is a jumble of various scenes with the king of Tyre collaborating with the Egyptian pharaoh (the talking snake). As a consequence the king of Tyre (Adam & Eve) was kicked out of his kingdom (the Garden of Eden).
You have to read the whole story.

GC Because God put it there? Because God created them to require food before it was possible to die, and an apple is food? If there was no death before sin, why would they even be created with the feeling of hunger? So tell me, why shouldn't we kill babies? Or at least the maximum amount we can while keeping the species going? Surely we're doing them a favour, and we can just say soz to Jesus when we're done. We're guaranteeing they get into heaven, and saving them from having to go through this shit bit of life first. How is that not great?
This is a demonstration of how dangerous religious beliefs can be if people really do believe them rather than just professing belief. Even if they believe a lot about their religion, they clearly don't really believe babies go to heaven.
