Not to mention the mother of dragons. For this series to establish its credentials in the "tits and dragons" genre we must see the tits. Not really negotiable. But as C_L's lesbo-lover you can't mind too much can you?

Game of Thrones Season 5 Discussion [SPOILERS WITHIN]
|
They cool it off after Season 4, IMO.
After the backlash for the unnecessary, non-book based Cersei scene, they really cooled it off to mostly nudity.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
More than a month before the new season beings. :C

A lot of sexual scenes, and not that I'm a prude on that front, but sometimes, I think it's overkill. But, then again, I view it as possibly necessary to show the times. Tonight we are watching episode 2. I agree. I think HBO likes to sexualize too much. Even the gross, old oracle from the books was made into a hot young woman for the show. However, I'm always down to see Emilia Clarke and Natalie Dormer nude. RE: Game of Thrones Season 5 Discussion [SPOILERS WITHIN]

All of the main women of the show banded together. Good for them, too. While I enjoy seeing Emilia Clarke's boobs as much as any other, the nudity is not central to the storytelling. The story is more than enough to attract viewers.
I understand the first few seasons before the mania really hit that "Sex Sells" was a thing the producers believed in, but it was--and is--unnecessary. There scenes where the women use sex as a power move, and that is the time when it should stay in.

Nope. It wasn't even in the books that way, so if it wasn't necessary there, it wasn't necessary in the series. It also belies Jamie's character arc at that point in the show.
